More than 17,000 students from around the world participated in the NCSS Challenge 2019. They competed for 5 weeks, learning to code by solving interesting and engaging problems. Today we commemorated the Feast of the Holy Cross, which is one of the seven Holy Feasts and one of the sacrament of the Assyrian Church of the East. On this day, we remember the importance of the Cross as by it all the other sacraments are sealed and perfected. It reminds us that the great foundation of Christianity is the confession that through the Cross, renewal and universal salvation were obtained for all. Who said Maths can’t be fun? Our Mathematics Department organised an incursion, The Math Show, for Year 7 and 8 students. The show was filled with mathematical history, puzzles, magic and fun – designed to entertain and engage students while substantially increasing their interest in mathematics. Our CSR Team yesterday visited St Marys Retirement Village and gifted the fathers with gifts for Father’s Day. The afternoon was one which was filled with prayer, delightful conversations and afternoon snacks organsined by the lovely ladies of St Marys. Our School community held an assembly to honor Noah Sada our 2018 College Dux. The College Dux is an award presented to a Year 12 student with the highest academic scores across all studies and ranked the highest in the cohort. Noah worked tirelessly during his 6 years at St Narsai. He strived for academic excellence and was always willing to assist his peers. He has been a good role model at St Narsai and in the Assyrian community and works towards always living a positive life.
